Professional Care with a Personal Touch
Sally has worked for several different farms, training and showing horses at local, Regional and National competitions. During those years of training with Appaloosas, Quarter Horses and Arabians and giving lessons, Sally's own horses along with those in her care earned Regional & National Titles. Lots of hard work and fun went into building the foundation for Shaw's Training Center now relocated from Broward County Florida to Citra Fl. just 20 miles north of Ocala. There has been so many young riders through the years that have passed through the barn doors of Shaw's Training Center and some have even followed their dreams and have become trainers themselves. Sally is no longer training but still enjoys having horses in her life. The farm is now a boarding facility and the "guests" are treated as family.
The dreams of a young girl started back when she had her own horse in the backyard, trained and showed this horse through the years. People in the area started asking for her help with training their horses and riding lessons for themselves.
The start of Shaw's Training Center was the after effect from Hurricane Andrew, when Sally had to relocate from South Miami to Davie, Florida.
Then in 2005 Shaw's Training Center relocated to Citra Fl.
Barb has over 45 years experience with horses. Owner breeder of many Arabian horses, worked as a groom/assistant trainer of thoroughbred's plus managed a thoroughbred farm in South Fl.
Put in 18 years as a Police Officer with the City of Plantation and upon retiring moved up to Central Fl. to help Sally with Shaw's Training Center.
Sally has trained 3 of Barb's horses and along the way we went to Nationals.
My Nevaeh is 3rd generation Half Arabian bred and owned by Sally. When Nevaeh was 2, Sally entered her in the 2 year old futurity at Arabian Sport Horse Nationals. Sally and Nevaeh came home a National Champion!
Nevaeh started her riding career as an awesome western pleasure horse under the training of Dale Brown Performance Horses. Unfortunately she suffered a career ending injury and now over sees all things horsey here on the farm.
